MALICE Guitarist: New Material Will Be 'Heavier Than Ever'
November 9, 2006More information has been revealed about the reunion of '80s Los Angeles heavy metal legends MALICE, featuring the three original guitar slingers (Mick Zane, Jay Reynolds and Mark Behn) alongside Pete Holmes (BLACK 'N BLUE, MICHAEL SCHENKER) on drums and newfound vocal sensation Brian Allen. According to Jay Reynolds, Brian Allen has not left his other band LAST EMPIRE. "He is currently in the studio finishing tracks on LAST EMPIRE's second album with new guitar shedder John Jaunese," says Reynolds. "The new MALICE lineup just completed rehearsals in Los Angeles and is currently writing for a new release for 2007. The emphasis on the new MALICE material is on being heavier than ever." European festival appearances are planned for next summer.
MALICE's two Atlantic releases — "In The Beginning" and "License to Kill" — are available Stateside on WEA label Wounded Bird and have continued to sell over the years. The band also plans to release several live DVDs from the '80s and possibly a retrospective of past demos and unreleased songs.
MALICE guitarist Jay Reynolds is currently a member of METAL CHURCH.
